What are Expressive Arts?

When we utilize art forms like dance, ceramics, visual arts, and drama in a therapeutic context, we are able to explore our stories while expressing emotions in a unique way that is safe, fun, and effective. We can build regulation skills, self-expression, create a sense of identity, grow in community connection and confidence, while creating together. These therapeutic modalities work for all ages and can specifically work well with those diagnosed with PTSD as well as non-verbal or neurodivergent clients.
